THE Lae Law and Order committee plans to help send home the bodies of some of the seven people killed in a road accident at Nasuapum outside Lae last Saturday.
Committee chairman Sam Gani told The National yesterday that they were trying to identify the bodies and have them repatriated to their provinces. They are trying to secure some funding from of the Morobe Governor’s office.
He said four of the seven were from outside Morobe.
“The Governor is currently in China but he has called and informed me that his government will look into the matter,” Gani said.
“We are also trying to broker peace and ease the tension among the relatives of the people who lost their lives. They are frustrated and want answers on the deaths.”
Gani said police were investigating the cause of the accident.
He said the committee would try to assist those recovering at the hospital.
