Companies not involved in politics, says Pruiatch

National

NATIONAL Alliance Party leader Patrick Pruiatch has denied that “multi-national partners” are involved in the current political developments.
Aitape-Lumi MP Pruaitch agreed with sentiments expressed recently by Prime Minister James Marape who rubbished claims on social media and elsewhere that outsiders were behind the political instability.
“We note the cheap-shots taken by these very elements on social media, perpetuating unfounded conspiracy theories,” Pruiatch said.
“These individuals are determined to subject our nation and the PM to unnecessary ridicule by continuing to perpetuate lies that harm the reputation of elected leaders and private citizens.
“We are pleased to note the PM’s recent statements, which are in line with our own view.”
He called it a shame that some people were trying to “undermine the hard work of successive governments to attract foreign investment by spreading lies to advance their personal agendas and incite disunity”.
“Let me be clear, multi-nationals are not behind recent political events nor are they involved in financing either the Government or Opposition, which would violate laws in their own countries,” Pruiatch said.
“Papua New Guineans should have more confidence in their own democracy.”

  • violating laws is different from accepting bribes!!!..The whole of Pacific knows..PNG politicians are the most corrupt leaders in the region….do a research..and you will be surprised at the stats…

  • PP…the people of PNG are not stupids and primitives. Many are more intelligent and more qualified then you are. And please don’t start talking about the ‘reputatation of mandated leaders’. We the people of PNG know best about your reputation. And the world also knows the kind of reputation that you politicians have in PNG. And that reputation has been played out so vividly over the past few months. You politicians lack integrity, credibility and transparency. Who is going to believe you? Because the writing is clearly on the wall. People are not fools. They clearly see what’s going on. What you do in darkness will be exposed in light …. it’s just a matter of time.

  • Some corrupt MPs moved to join opposition on 13th November 2020 was ripple effect of passing the ICACC on 12th November 2020. The ICAC was passed and that prompted the corrupt MPs to shift. The corrupt MPs are trying everything they can to change Government so that they can find safe haven. Corrupt MPs know well they will go Bomana so that have to fight hard for that course.

Claim of multi-international investors taking sides in PNG politics may not be true because they are too big to play in local politics in PNG.
