A COMPANY in the country has noted minimal impact on its operations during the Covid-19 pandemic while announcing vacancies for more than 40 positions.
Paradise Company Ltd along with its subsidiaries, Paradise Foods and Laga Industries, have announced they are actively recruiting for 45 new or vacant job roles.
Paradise Foods, best known for emNau, Wopa, Gold Nuggets and Tru Tru Wara, has 30 open positions. Its sister company Laga Industries, known for making famous Gala Ice Cream, has 15 positions.
The companies would be hiring people to help sustain their current business growth.
Both companies slowed their production in the first two weeks of the state of emergency (SOE) while sales demand increased.
Now, short of product, they are returning to full speed.

“We have already returned to 24/7 production,” group chief executive James Rice said.
“With the exception of Sandaun, Western, and East New Britain, all of our employees are back to work and we are still going strong.
“The Covid-19 crisis has not had a negative impact on our company.
“Sales have been increasing every month since June 2019, including during the state of emergency.
“This is a short-term problem and our company’s investment and growth plans remain unchanged.
“The country’s economy has only hit a pothole in a rising road.”
Rice said the companies’ number one priority was keeping its employees safe, followed closely by remaining in production to serve its consumers.
“We sold 11.5 million packs of emNAU biscuits in March.
“We are feeding the nation.
“It’s great that we can provide good jobs during this tough economic situation.”
