A BUSINESS house in Lae donated Trukai Fun Run shirts to four primary schools in the city yesterday.
Prima Smallgoods representatives visited four primary schools — Bowali, Amba Demonstration (lower), Huonville and St Mary’s — to donate the fun run shirts.
National sales and marketing manager Kola Geri told the students from each school that with the Covid-19 there would be no fun run this year but the support for the country’s elite athletes competing at the Olympics, Commonwealth and the regional games needed to be maintained.
He said the Fun Run was one of the PNG Olympic Committee’s main fundraising activities in a calendar year and despite not being held in 2021, they still needed support from the corporate community.
“The little support that we give goes down to support our elite sportsmen and women,” Geri said.
“We must appreciate the importance of supporting sports in our community, sports is one thing that can build you to become better person, can help you, can discipline you.”
Geri said the schools could sell the shirts at a set price and the money used on their needs.
