MORE than 25 local craft makers from around the country displayed their work in Lae with the assistance of a jewellery shop.
The House of Gemini, owned by Kathy Johnson, has been in operation since 2017.
It is also involved with City Mission and the Ginigoada Foundation PNG.
House of Gemini has its own factory, with 14 local jewellers who make different designs of jewellery using gold and silver.
It has five shops – four in Port Moresby and one is in Lae located at the Brian Bell Plaza.
The jewellery shop in Lae has been assisting local craft makers to sell their work.
They are from Tami Island, Bukawa and Salamaua in Morobe, New Ireland, Bougainville, East Sepik, Milne Bay, East and West New Britain, Gulf, Eastern Highlands and Chimbu.
Lae branch manager Vanessa Pelgen told The National last week that the goal was to support craft makers/producers in selling their products including shells, necklaces, bowls, paintings, gift cards, carvings, coffee tables and bilum.
“Our shop helps local craft makers display their goods on consignment,” she said.
