A FINANCIAL company in Port Moresby last week presented a cheque for K15,000 to the Central Education Department for its teachers who will be marking the grade 10 national examination papers.
National Finance marketing officer John Lewis said at the cheque presentation that this was the second time that the company had stepped in and assisted the Central teachers.
“The first time we presented the Central teachers with such assistance was last year and this assistance will not stop,” he said.
“We will still support them in the years to come.”
Lewis thanked the Central Education Department for reaching out to the company to sponsor the marking of the Grade 10 national examination papers.
“We would like to take this event as a community engagement event where we see ourselves in the future taking part in more of such activities.”
Provincial Education administrator Gaile Goama thanked the financial company for such support.
“The provincial Education Department is privileged and honoured for such assistance and we know we will still get sponsorship from the company,” he said.
The cheque presentation was witnessed by the Central Education staff, teachers and the financial company staff.
