AS the Public Servants Netball Competition slowly wraps up its round two games, the contest gets tougher with teams from division one to eight putting out their best performances and strategies to make the top.

Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee is the leader in the premier division after round one and two games.

Works, a team made up of Department of Works staff, their children and dependants is second on the tally followed by National Fisheries Authority in third placing, MedComm in fourth, and PNG Power in fifth and PNG Sports Foundation in sixth place.

With this weekend’s last match of round two, it will be an interesting affair as there might be some upsets if the teams in the bottom of the ladder beat the leading teams which may cause the tally to change in terms of team positions.

Match committee chairperson Gillian Ole said all teams in the top four were focused on winning their games this Saturday to secure their positions and places in the semis and grand final.

She said the top teams would play hard to keep their positions.  However, anything can happen since lower teams are also preparing very hard to challenge the teams they will be playing against.

Top matches in the premier division to watch this Saturday will be Works 1 taking on PNG Power, National Fisheries Authority 1 against MedComm and PNG Sports Foundation 1 to take on PNG Olympic Committee.

The competition will have its semi-finals on Feb 13 and grand finals on Feb 27.
