PORT Moresby’s Capital Rugby Union (CRU) competition will complete its remaining rounds under a revised draw which came into effect last week, according to an official.
Competition manager Pepe Gotaha told The National last week that games from rounds eight to 10 would see the top-four and bottom-four playoffs with the team finishing first in the top-four to claim the title.
“This is where teams will play each other based on the standing at the end of round seven after each team has played each other once,” he said.
“The bottom-four teams will play in the earlier matches (9am-11am) whilst the top-four sides will play in the afternoon matches (1pm-3pm).
“This will continue for the next three Saturdays, starting with round-eight matches (which took place last week).
“All teams have been advised of the revised draw.
“At the end of round 10, the winners will be declared as the premiers.”
Meanwhile, Gotaha said CRU was yet to secure sponsorship due to the Covid-19 pandemic affecting business.
“Our traditional sponsors had declined our requests for sponsorship citing a major downturn in revenue mainly due to the economic impacts of Covid-19,” he said.
