Tournament attracts 24 teams to battle for K10,000 prize

A TOTAL of 24 teams have been confirmed for this month’s Sports Tok Sevens rugby union tournament which will take place at Bava Park in Port Moresby.
“We have 12 teams from Port Moresby and as many from outside,” Quantum Media managing director Benson Upas said ahead of the Nov 28-29 tournament. One Wewak, three Madang, four Lae and four New Guinea Islands teams will do battle with the Port Moresby sides for major honours.
Upas said the Cup winners would bag K10,000 and a new set of jerseys.
He said this was the third year of the tournament which was postponed in Easter due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Former Papua New Guinea Pukpuk Paul Joseph will be present at the tournament to award the best and fairest player with the Paul Joseph Award.
