Competitions warned to meet PNGRFL requirements

SOUTHERN Confederation director Gwaibo Mairi has warned competitions to meet the affiliation requirements set out by the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football (PNGRFL) for next year.
He says affiliation is K500 and the fee is to be paid confederation’s account with Bank South Pacific.
“This is a pre-qualification requirement for the annual general meeting (AGM) as per PNGRFL constitution,” Mairi said. “League AGMs are to be convened between December and January next year with reports and meeting minutes submitted to the confederation.”
He said players and technical officials of each club affiliated to the league had to be fully registered.
“This requirements must be adhered to as stipulated in the PNGRFL constitution,” Mairi said.
“Failure to comply will result in leagues facing possible suspension.”
Mairi said he had shown leniency in previous years but with directions from PNGRFL, “we expect you all to meet the requirements”.
Mairi said the confederation was the biggest in the country with 22 affiliations.
