Congratulations director Patel

I AM happy that the 2019 Papua New Guinea Institute of Directors, male director of the year award went to City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) group managing director Mahesh Patel. Having worked with CPL, Patel is a true leader who has shown outstanding leadership in the company and to the people of PNG.
He displayed professionalism and high ethical standard, made significant contribution to the organisation’s strategy and led the company to financial success.
Patel has provided over 3,000 employment opportunities, from the 70 stores nationwide.
CPL supports over 1,000 farmers by buying their fresh produce, Ginigoada Foundation, sports, Book Bilong Pikinini and Red Cross among others.
Patel has been on the committee of the Port Moresby General Hospital and the Cancer Society to address the health issues. The CPL Foundation focuses on empowering women.
Mahesh has taken back CPL from a devastating fire that destroyed its warehouse. I was an employee of CPL in Port Moresby when the head office and warehouse in Gerehu went up in flames.
Everyone thought it was the end of CPL in PNG.
However, under the leadership of Patel, CPL transformed and is one of the best retail company in PNG. Getting the award as best director of the year is a true recognition of Patel’s hard work. Congratulation on the achievement.
