LANDOWNER companies in the Ramu NiCo project areas in Madang have been urged to control their companies’ internal financial control.

Vice-president of Ramu NiCo Management Wang Baowen addressed 30 landowner and clan companies representatives who attended a one-week basic business management training funded by Ramu NiCo.

“You must understand that the project belongs to all of us,” Wang said.

“The company is helping you now so you can help the company for the benefit of the majority of landowners.”

He encouraged them to control their company internal finance, safety procedures and management.

“It is our wish that when Ramu NiCo leaves, you can take control of the management of your companies,” he said.

Wang said he came to the country six years ago and saw changes in the social and economic areas.

“I wish you all realise that PNG is like another rural area that is opening up to the world,” he said.

The training was conducted by Stotick Kamya of Kamya Security and Risk Management Consultancy Services.

Ramu NiCo’s  community affairs general manager Martin Paining told the trainees to make use of the knowledge they had acquired from the training.
