A POLICEMAN accused of illegally discharging a police-issued firearm in public appeared in the Vanimo District Court in West Sepik last Wednesday, senior magistrate Sasa Inkung said.
Enock Kore, 27, from Wantokori village, Okapa, Eastern Highlands, was charged with discharging a firearm in Vanimo town on March 14, and being illegally in possession of it. He is to appear in court again on July 24.
Magistrate Inkung said the District Court also committed Kore to stand trial at the National Court in August, for allegedly damaging a vehicle during a road accident that involved a police vehicle near Vanimo town in February.
