Cops implicated in coke case

STRONG leads have been established into the identity of police officers involved in the Papa-Lealea cocaine smuggling case, according to Police Commissioner David Manning.
Manning said investigations were continuing with police looking at their own colleagues.
“All involved will be exposed, arrested, charged and prosecuted,” he said. “We are exploring other laws that may have been breached in adding more charges to the five men already charged.
“In the meantime, I appeal to you all not to speculate.
“I cannot comment on the case, however, I can assure everyone that we do have strong leads of those in the constabulary involved in this cocaine issue.
“We need to make sure we have all done our investigations before releasing information.”
When asked about case investigators looking at outside provinces, Manning said in the past there were cases of cocaine found but they were not related to the more than 600kg recently haul.
“Smaller cases of cocaine were found, there is a hint of the presence of hard drugs, however we can’t confirm that until we finish investigations,” he said.
Manning confirmed that his deputy commissioner of Operations Donald Yamasombi was not suspended. “He has not been suspended and whoever has been posting on social media needs to stop.
“We are trained not to make assumptions and allegations, and this has been happening in mainstream and social media which has seen speculations.”
Manning said whoever doing this has to stop.

  • The sooner they get the accomplices to the major drug haul the better. Exposes those crooks, greedy people who will readily profit at the expense of others.

  • Drug trafficking is a lucrative but risky business. Drug traffickers know the risks so should expect to receive a harsh penalty if convicted, especially for the substantial amount of drugs confiscated. The courts should consider the lives destroyed by these drug lords when passing their verdict. For the love of money is the root of evil..

  • Police should investigate where the drugs that were impounded from a FFV last year in Milne Bay waters by a PNGDF Patrol Boat are now.

With the help of Australian Surveillance Authorities a PNGDF PB was dispatched to Budibudi Island East of Woodlark Island where they found illegal drugs on board. RPNGC members who were tasked to take charge of that FFV abandoned it where I heard it ended up in Morobe or West New Britain Coastline. The Papa-Lealea drugs ‘maybe’ from that FFV…

..my piece of intel for thought, by those in charge of intelligence in this country.

  • Thank you for the heads up RPNGC commissioner, David Manning. This is what everyone of us wanted to hear. As soon as the findings are established, we want them exposed so that the allegations and assumptions can stop on the social media.

  • The Law enforcer involvement was unbelievable in cocaine/drugs strings smuggle deals.
When will the so called Christian nation condemn corruptions we all should know that
    we in the end times………

  • My advice to PC… Its better TO WORK SILENTLY until you have all evidence you need for arrests and then come in the media. Appearance in the media and outlining your proposed activities will lead to counter moves by those involved…drug dealers have money…and in PNG MONEY TALKS.
