POLICE in the highlands have commissioned toll-free hotline for the public to report swiftly law and order issues.
“The toll-free number 2222 was activated last week for the public and business communities to reach us easily,” Highlands eastern end commander assistant commissioner Rigga Neggi said.
“Crimes, especially General Election 2022 (GE22)-related offences, can be reported through the hotline.”
Neggi said that the toll free number was commissioned last Saturday by assistant commissioner Samson Kua who is in charge of the special police operations supporting police in Highlands eastern and western end in GE22 security operations.
“It is a toll free number offered to police for services to the community by Digicel PNG and this will now help both police and the community at large,” he said.
“The use of the hotline will go a long way in managing crime information and response.”
Neggi said the hotline would complement police-public working relationship.
“Let us all work together to make GE22 a free, fair, safe and transparent general election.”
