Corporate snooker competition to start

The Port Moresby Corporate Snooker competition will start on March 19.
According to a statement from the organisers, there will be a maximum of eight premier and 10 open teams.
“Teams must have a minimum of five players in the premier grade and six players in the open division, with a maximum of 10 athletes per side,” the statement said.
“Premier teams are limited to one player with handicaps of minus 10 or less, two players between zero to minus five and players with handicaps between five and 15, or three players with handicaps between zero and minus five and players with handicaps between five and 15.
“No team will be allowed to register more than three players with zero and minus handicaps.
“Open teams are limited to three players with 20 and 25 handicap, three players with 30 to 35 and four players with 40 to 50 handicaps.
“All players are permitted a maximum of two games in a match — a singles and/or a doubles.
“Teams may use a player as a reserve from a lower grade, as long as the reserve has not played more than two matches for another team in the same division.”
The statement warned players to abide by the dress code set out by the organisers.
“All players must wear a collared shirt and long dark trousers,” he said.
“Ladies can wear skirt, slacks or knee length shorts.
“Appropriate footwear must be worn, excluding strapless slip on, rubber thongs or torn shoes.
“No dirty or ripped clothing is allowed. If a player does not comply with the uniform rules, then player will not be permitted to play.”
