Councillors undergo workshop

THE Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs is conducting an induction workshop in Mt Hagen for ward councillors in Mul-Baiyer district, Western Highlands, this week.
This is to educate them on their roles and responsibilities.
The workshop would help councillors know their population, development and the progress of the economy starting at the ward level.
The workshop was sponsored by local MP Koi Trappe for wards to be central location where the government would collect all the required information on population, infrastructure development and other data on the local economy.
District project coordinator Wesley Koke told the workshop that MP Trappe has a plan for individual wards and made available K1.2 million for development purpose.
