Court rejects Kantha’s request

National

THE National Court has rejected a request by Solomon Kantha to stay the decision by Cabinet to sack him as Chief Immigration Officer last December.
Justice Royale Thompson yesterday rejected his application for an interim stay order he had also filed in December.
His application to have the Cabinet decision reviewed was granted by the court on Jan 30 and will go ahead.
He was appointed in November, 2017. But Cabinet revoked his appointment last December after Crown lawyers said it was flawed.
Kantha in his application sought to stay the Cabinet decision and the appointment of Robert Kennedy to act in that position.

  • Please, find an other job. It’s a waste of money and people’s time to go to court every time a PNG CEO to any statutory agency is shake or position is revoked by the authority, esp. the Govt.
