THE Waigani Committal Court is expected to make a ruling next week on the case of a man charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a woman.
Elliot Dobu, 24 and from Obea village in Ijivitari, Northern, was alleged to have pushed Anita Kundiri, who lost her balance, fell and sustained serious injuries in Erima, Port Moresby on Jan 18.
Magistrate Cosmos Bidar said the case was first mentioned on March 1 but no police file had been served to Dobu.
“Although it has been over three months since the case was first mentioned, this is a serious case and I will allow one last adjournment,” Bidar said.  The matter will return to court on Tuesday.
It is alleged that on Jan 18, Kundiri was sitting on top of an empty fridge at her brother’s home in Erima when Dobu walked in and accused her of owing him some money.
Dobu, then allegedly pushed Kundiri off the empty fridge and she fell on her back.
Kundiri’s relatives took her to Port Moresby General Hospital where x-rays showed that she had sustained spinal injuries.
Dobu is on an extended bail of K500.
