Cousins sign new employment deals

TWO cousins were among the seven heads of State agencies who signed new employment contracts at Government House yesterday.
Clarence Hoot, the managing director of the Investment Promotion Authority, and Peter Tsiamalili Junior, the executive director of the PNG Sports Foundation, are from Bougainville.
Hoot signed a four-year contract after acting in the position for the past three years.
Tsiamalili is into his second four-year term contract.
Also at Government House was the provincial administrator for West New Britain William Hosea.
He is the only provincial administrator who enjoys the same grade as a department head. His term is for another four years.
Managing director of the Conservation and Environment Protection Authority Gunther Joku signed for his second four-year term contract.
He was secretary to the Department of Environment and Conservation before becoming managing director when it became an authority in 2015.
National Aids Council director Dr Nick Mawe Dala continues in the position for another three years.
The others were Dean Kupi, the chief executive officer of the Accidents Investigation Commission and Steven Maken, the managing director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation.
Both signed their contracts for terms of four years.
Joku and Tsiamalili thanked God for his guidance and the Government for its trust and confidence in them.
They aim to improve efficiency and reorganise their agencies by bringing in the best qualified professionals.
