THE Morobe Health Authority curative services director Dr Lincoln Menda says majority of the funds to the authority for the coronavirus ( Covid-19) were put into manpower training.
“There was a dire need to beef up manpower to assist and carry the burden of fighting the Covid-19 infections,” he said.
“The funds are not with Angau, they are specifically for the Covid-19 hospital.
“We have well over 55 staff who are paid specifically from the Covid-19 funding and not from the provincial health authority’s operating account by the planning and monitoring department or the Government but the funds that friends are giving to us.”
“The K1 million from the provincial government last year had already been used up and we welcome donations this year.”
