PEOPLE travelling in and out of Eastern Highlands will be properly tested for the Coronavirus (Covid-19), says Eastern Highlands police commander Supt Michael Welly.
Police and health officers have been stationed at the Goroka Airport, Kassam Pass and Magiro to conduct the checks. “Passengers travelling in and out of the province are advised to observe strict Covid-19 protocols.
“Temperature guns and other testing equipment are at the check points,” he said.
Police are monitoring the movement of all vehicles to ensure that Covid-19 protocols are followed.
His office in Goroka started issuing Covid-19 traffic passes to vehicle owners travelling through Highlands Highway.
“Any truck and vehicle with no pass will be impounded,” he said.
