CPL recognises hardworking nurses

CITY Pharmacy Ltd has recognised nurses Esther Kulbob and Clera Sirek as 2019’s best effective nurses.
Kulbob, from the Wewak nursing station, and Sirek, from the Boroko nursing station in Port Moresby, were proud of the recognition and said health was everyone’s business.
CPL nurse manager Sandra Cunningham said one of the most important and lasting roles as a nurse was the dedication to help others. Cunningham said to be considered for this award, nurses were nominated by their pharmacist managers and supported by their nurse managers.
“Each nurse must meet the code of professional conduct, the code of ethics and the nursing competency standards of Papua New Guinea, with City Pharmacy expectations,” she said.
The categories include:

  • Customer service and patient care: Contributes to the direction of care that influences positive health outcomes on a daily basis;
  • Appearance: Takes pride in their appearance and their role as a health professional;
  • Communication: An active listener, empathetic and ensures clear information is given; and,
  • Job knowledge: Has the nursing knowledge and essential skills to effectively carry out their duties.
