CPL’s operation returns to normal

CITY Pharmacy Limited chairman Mahesh Patel says “it is business as usual” as the company returns to normal operation after the fire that destroyed its warehouse last month in Port Moresby.
There are some delays in re-stocking after the fire but this is expected to be sorted out in coming months, Patel said.
“Business is as usual and there is nothing that has changed much,” he said.
“We may face some delays here and there because we had stocks that we had to buy four months in advance. So things like that mean that there could be some frustration at the frontline.
“Right now, we are focusing on the basics. So pharmaceuticals get airlifted straight away. At the end of the day, we may have to compromise and pay extra freight. But the consumers must not feel that we have lost our back end. So our focus is from the customer perspective. Nothing’s going to stop but we need the time to get through.
“Just today, I was in Napa Napa and we found another warehouse that we can use because our Christmas cargo comes in about two weeks’ time such as toys and lots fun merchandise.”
