Credit Corp appoints new group chief risk officer

Andre De Bakhapouve has been appointed the group chief risk officer for Credit Corporation (PNG) Ltd.
Bakhapouve is a risk management professional with more than 20 years of experience in top-tier global and local banks in the Asia-Pacific.
His most recent role in 2019 to 2021, was as the chief risk officer APAC, Wells Fargo Bank (Hong Kong), which required his management of risk and compliance across all business lines in Asia Pacific.
For 10 out of his 20 years of experience, Bakhapouve was as an executive risk manager in various banks including Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore), ANZ Bank (Melbourne), Baycorp (Sydney) and Promina Group (now Suncorp Sydney).
Bakhapouve has a bachelor of science degree (Hons) in mathematical statics and a bachelor of science in computer science/AI from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
He also has experience in analytics and automation.
Credit Corporation chief executive officer Danny Robinson welcomed Bakhapouve into the executive team and looked forward to his contribution with technical expertise to the financial services industry.
Bakhapouve will provide support for the recovery and expansion of the SME market in the country and across the Pacific, as they align with the current growth strategy of the company.
