Crusade prepares students

IT was a spiritual and life-changing experience for the people of Turagunan village in Raluana, Kokopo, East New Britain, when they took part in a school crusade.
The three-day event began last Friday, based on the theme “Our faith is built by His Word and His Wisdom, through God’s power the Holy Spirit”.
David Towok, the head teacher of Turagunan Elementary School, who was one of the organisers, said the crusade was to prepare students for the 2020 academic year.
“I have been a teacher in my village for over 21 years and I have seen less and less students in my village making it through to high school and tertiary institutions,” he said.
“So with God’s grace and the help of youths, we organised the event to relay the message to students and villages that Christ should be the centre of one’s life, thus, holding the back-to-school crusade for a change.”
Towok said students and the people in general, needed to start the year on a positive note with the Lord’s blessing.
