CHIEF Supt Perou N’dranou has urged Central police and Customs officers to improve their performance after a leadership training at the Bomana Police College last week.
N’dranou said an organisation failed because responsible people were not doing their jobs.
“We should have the best police force in the country if we can only change and uphold our duty and responsibility in every position we are occupying,” he said.
N’dranou said everyone should be responsible in carrying out their roles and make decisions to improve police and Customs performance to provide reliable service to the Government and people.
He said the five-day leadership workshop was to provide Central police and Customs officers insight into the command, control and coordination of their duties as leaders in their respective work stations.
“It’s about controlling the resource on hand, having the skills to command the operation and coordinate yourself and your unit to achieve the final result,” he said.
N’dranou said the leadership training was to manage the operation and having respect for the system.
“We have trained them the skills to become leaders,” he said.
Meanwhile, N’dranou said the 15 police officers and two Customs staff were trained together to work in partnership.
