Czuba appears in court

SUSPENDED Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology secretary Fr Jan Czuba made his first National Court appearance yesterday after he was committed to stand trial on nine charges of abuse of office.
Justice Teresa Berrigan confirmed Fr Czuba’s bail of K3,000 and had it converted to the National Court bail before fixing Oct 4 for his next appearance. She also varied his bail for his travel to the Western Pacific University in Ialibu, Southern Highlands, as and when required as the executive chairman of the school.
She imposed conditions that Fr Czuba report to the police fraud office every Monday, and to notify the public prosecutor of his travel at least 24 hours prior to departure.
