CENTRAL Dabaris coach Bagelo Solien says they have recruited SP Hunters squad member Justin Yoka to boost the campaign in the Digicel Cup which kicks off on July 5.
He said the playmaker, who is expected to arrive in Port Moresby today, was among seven new faces in his 35-man squad who will play a trial match against the Vipers or Hela Wigmen on June 20.
Joining Yoka is former SP Hunter Philemon Kimisive, one-time Rabaul Gurias captain Samuel Hamari, Frank Kagai (Waghi Tumbe) and Charles Kumbi (Gulf Isou).
“Justin is in Mt Hagen but I’ve been in contact with him over the weekend and we’re just arranging for him to join the squad for training,” Solien told The National.
“We’ve brought in these players to help build on the experience of the club and hopefully, we can be more competitive.
“No-one expected the Covid-19 pandemic but we’re planning to get as much fitness as we can.
“We’re targeting at least eight wins of the 11 rounds in the revised Digicel Cup season this year.
“We’re working hard on our physicality. We’re counting on our defence and structures to produce good results.”
Solien said the squad had been practising basic hygiene while training in groups of 10 for the past two weeks. He said the Dabaris would training at Papa village today and tomorrow.
