FOUR goals from Nigel Dabinyaba helped Toti City beat Tusbab Stallions 6-0 in the Petroleum National Soccer League Northern Conference at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae on Saturday.
The visiting Stallions fired up in the first 30 minutes of the match to hold off the defending champions.
Led by captain Max Sengum, the Madang side put pressure on City’s defence but could not find the net.
Nine minutes before halftime, Dabinyaba scored the opener.
In the 40th minute, Michael Foster pushed the ball past Stallions goalkeeper Graham Berigami to increase City’s lead.
At the start of the second half, there was no looking back for the Peter Gunemba-coached side as they added four unanswered goals through Dabinyaba (three) and Emmanuel Airem to maintain their record of eight wins from as many matches.
Meanwhile, in the other three matches, Morobe Wawens recorded their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Laiwaden.
Wawens’ goals came from Ben Lapio and Ferdallas Namuesh, with Darren Niaman scoring the only goal for Laiwaden.
The match also saw the first red card of the conference when Wawens’ Jason Farrock was sent off.
Farrock’s sending off was for a late tackle on Laiwaden goalkeeper Michael Gewa, who needed treatment.
The second match of the day went Morobe United’s way when they crushed Lahi United 6-0.
Morobe’s goals came from Alex Kamen, Russel Nirik (two), Henry Ronny, Freddy Steven and Jeremiah Samuel.
In the third match, Besta PNG United beat Markham 2-1.
