Dambui appointed new head of CIC

THE Government has appointed Charles Dambui as chief executive officer for the Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC).
The Government’s decision was made through the Ministry and Department of Agriculture and Livestock.
Dambui, (pictured) has been acting chief executive officer since last year.
“Stability is vital for the growth of any institution. I therefore thank the Government, particularly the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, for realising the need for this appointment,” he said.
“One of my immediate tasks is to bring back stakeholder confidence in the coffee industry which has been missing for almost six years.”
Dambui said he would begin work on advancing coffee based small medium enterprises, extending regulations in the coffee industry, stakeholder involvement and developing plans at the district level.
He said the focus was to rebuild confidence and improving the industry.
Dambui has more than 10 years’ experience in the agriculture industry, mainly in the coffee sector.
CIC’s Productive Partnership in Agriculture Project manager Potaisa Hombunaka commended the Government for appointing a chief   executive officer “who has the heart and desire to help the industry.
