THE Telpepe Dart Club received a timely boost to their 2024 NCD Darts Association season when they were presented with 20 sublimated dart uniforms by the Total Waste Management (TWM) Group on Thursday in Port Moresby.
Club representative Pokuwei Siniu said that the club has registered three teams in division one of the NCD Darts Association (NCDDA) competition and one of NCDDA’s requirements was that all teams must be in uniform in order to take part.
As a family club, it was a challenge to ensure all three clubs are attired properly for the season however, to their surprise, TWM Group answered their plea. One of their teams, the Telpepe Snipers will now don on 20 custom-made dart uniforms.
TWM Group representative Joyce Edwards was on hand to present the new set of uniforms to the club rep and the Telpepe Snipers, witnessed by the NCD Darts Association president Dr Kapua Kapua and secretary Baxter Torie.
“We want to change the perception of darts in Papua New Guinea and one of the ways to do this is to ensure that all teams taking part in the competition must be in uniform by game 12 or halfway through the season,” Kapua said.
“TWM Group is one of few corporate houses that is now supporting the sport of darts through this kind of sponsorship and we are very appreciative of this gesture shown by TWM managing director Kori Chan and his team.”
Telpepe darts representative Pokuwei Siniu said that the club was very grateful of this generous help from Chan and the TWM Group.
“The only way we can repay this support and belief in us is to perform to the best of our abilities and make Chan and the TWM Group proud. We aim to win the division one competition this season,” he said.
