POLICE say the body of a man was found in a drain in Kimbe, West New Britain on Tuesday.
Police commander Supt John Midi told The National that the body was awaiting a post-mortem examination.
He said they believe the man died on Monday night.
Midi urged the people to identify the man and assist police in their investigation.
He also warned people about travelling alone at night.
“Every individual must take extra precautions when travelling in the night and on their own for safety reasons.
“Ask someone to accompany you when travelling in the night because it is not safe.” He called on the parents and relatives of students who will be going on end-of-year break to warn their children not to get involved in illegal activities.
Police will begin the Christmas and New Year operation soon.
