Decision to secure loan hailed

Letters

I SAY thank you to Prime Minister James Marape for a wise decision in securing the K1 billion loan from Australia to finance the 2020 Budget.
I challenge the elite citizens and politicians to be patriotic in our dedication of service to the country for now and in the future in decision making.
Every decision should be in the interest of the collective populace of the 8 million people.
Though the decision is political in nature; it’s crucial at this moment when nations are congested in an act of regional power play by the bigger forces in the region.
The decision demonstrates a new level of diplomacy with person to person relations.
We could not have entangled ourselves in the economic mess, by allowing our sovereignty entangled in dollar diplomacy had we simply approached our traditional foe in a kind tone that the prime minister himself took, immediately after election five months ago.
His address at the Lowe Institute in Melbourne and later joining the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to watch an NRL match in New South Wales are some of the small yet crucial factors that raise a new level of friendship while maintaining our sovereignty.
It paid off in such a low interest rate loan with no middle men fees.
Well done prime minister for setting the standard for a higher yet a very human to human understanding in even the highest level of diplomacy.
