Give more than take

Letters

IT is a biblical principle that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
What goes around comes around. For students, if you want to pass your tests and examinations, you have to give your time and effort in studying.
Those who are working, if you want promotions, you have to give the necessary effort.
For those who want extra qualifications, you have to be willing to sacrifice.
Sometimes you have to leave your kids at home for further studies.
Sometimes for young people you have to be willing to sacrifice early marriage for the success of your education.
Whatever endeavor you pursue in life, you have to give before you get.
The greatest mistake many of us do is waiting. Waiting for the right opportunity. Waiting for the right time.
Waiting for the person. Waiting for the right season. In other words, we are waiting for someone to act before we act.
For many, they never realise that they wait for the rest of their lives.
You have to give your time and effort and follow your passion.
Let me remind us of the biblical story of prophet Samuel.
He went to Jesse and asked him to anoint the next King of Israel which would be one of his sons. Jesse gathered all his elder sons.
They all dressed well. They were muscular.
They were of elderly age. However, Samuel found them not fit.
Later David was sent from the field to meet with prophet Samuel who later anointed him to be the next king of Israel.
Well, for David, he was alone in the field.
No one saw all his hard work chasing lions and beasts trying to attack the sheep.
When no one was watching he was singing hymns.
The point is, David waited for no one.
He did what he could with what he had though no one praised him for his work.
Let us never forget that our good Lord is watching and he will raise us in due season if we never give up doing the right things even when others are not watching.
