Delay in restoring power frustrating

Letters

I EXPRESS my discontentment to PNG Power Ltd management over non-compliance of restoring power at 8-Mile from the first block to second block for over a week.
We have a private clinic, bakery, mini super market, trade stores, SMEs, churches and many other residents who pay taxes and Easipay to the Internal Revenue Commission and PNG Power respectively but we have been denied the services of power over a week.
Despite continued enquiries to their toll number, the officers continue to give us excuses without any clear reason or justification of the delay.
With the academic year just started last week, our kids are denied their basic right to learning as they are not able to do their homework using light.
With the continuous rain in the afternoons, we cannot make fire to cook food.
The situation gets even worse as our kids do not eat proper meals and go to school.
This is a double blow, especially for our kids when the school has just begun.
For them to go through this situation is not acceptable at all.
On the other hand, all our frozen goods were given to animals, we lost businesses and it is causing stress.
We urge the PNG Power boss to discipline or instruct his linesmen on the ground to get out there and inspect or restore the power. The linesmen, especially the Boroko officers, are too slack.
We believe the system will detect the fault and your office should fix it and restore the power but this is not happening just because officers at Boroko are too slack to do their jobs.
You cannot keep the taxpayers and genuine customers at ransom like this.
