Delay in Tesas list concerns students, parents

PARENTS and students are concerned over the delay in the tertiary education students assistance scheme (Tesas) list.
Department of Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology secretary Fr Jan Czuba told The National that the Tesas list would be ready as soon as the higher education institutes in the country confirmed their list of students enrolled.
Fr Jan said the department needed the institutes’ lists so they could compile their own.
According to parent Francis Wau, from Enga, the department announced on school-leavers’ national online application system accounts and on several newspaper advertisements that they would publish the 2021 acceptance list on Jan 8 and the Tesas list on Jan 11 on their website but this has not happened.
Wau said the Higher Education Department had not notified the public on the delay.
He said he had been checking frequently for any information or updates regarding the delay but there hasn’t been anything.
Wau said he even sent an email to their support desk and messaged them on Facebook regarding the matter but did not get a reply.
He hoped that Tesas list would come out this week as this would give parents and students time to secure required fees and other preparations before the academic year begins.
It is understood that not all higher education institutes have given in their lists.
