A BUS that belongs to the Madang Teachers College, was yesterday stoned by youths who live at Blue Gate, just past Bilia Maus Rot and Public Tank, along the North Coast Road in Madang.
College deputy principal administration Kason Ikumali said he drove his sick son to the hospital and was returning when the youths threw stones that damaged the front windscreen.
“I am not happy with what the youths had done to the bus because it will cost a lot of money to buy new parts,” he said.
“Responsible authorities should do something to the settlements along that area because it is a threat to the public travelling along that section of the road.”
Ikumali said when the bus was stoned, he turned back, went to the councillor and reported that to him. They both went to the police and lodged a complaint at Jomba Police Station.
Ikumali said when the police went to the scene, the suspects had left.
Madang police commander Supt Mazuc Rubiang said he had received reports on the matter and advised his officers to investigate it and have the culprits arrested and charged.
He said he was not happy with what had happened to the school bus.
