Delivery of goods, services neglected

Letters

I WANT to express my view on how basic goods and services are being neglected over the years in Saidor local level government, Raicoast.
The district is very rich in terms of cash crops, fisheries and various fresh garden food.
However, the people are still waiting and suffering because of ignorance and negligence.
The road condition is deteriorating starting from Astrolabe Bay (Bugati) to Bonga towards the border of Morobe.
Many bridges have been washed away by fast flowing rivers.
The only mode of transport that people are using to move their produce to Madang or send their students to schools is by sea.
Sadly, many lives have been taken by rough and stormy seas.
It is too expensive to travel by sea because of the high cost of fuel.
Authorities never made any attempt to solve these hardships.
The multi-billion Kina Ramu Nickle refinery at Basamuk Bay has not fulfilled terms of the memorandum of understanding between the landowners and the company.
You will hardly see any form of basic services such as schools and aid post funded by the company.
It is a day-light robbery, people are becoming victims of the decision which was amended by the state and the company.
Public servants and charity organisations such as church workers (priests) cannot perform their duties well because they are handicapped.
As a result, many patients and pregnant mothers lost their lives.
Law and order issue is at an alarming rate.
The people of Saidor and Raicoast should elect a God fearing leader in this general election who can ease the burdens on their shoulders.
The leader should make sure basic goods and services reach the people from the coast to the ragged mountains.
