THE world’s largest accounting firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu yesterday announced the promotion of Ernie Gangloff to the position of partner within the firm as of June 1.
Gangloff, from Manus and a graduate of PNG University of Technology, became the first Papua New Guinean to be promoted to the  position in Deloitte.
Deloitte PNG managing partner Paul Barber announced the promotion saying: “The partners of Deloitte are all very pleased to have Gangloff join us and are proud of his record of development within the firm.
“We have always been committed to developing PNG staff to senior levels but have set out that such advancement would be based on internationally comparable merit. Gangloff has achieved this goal.”
Barber added: “I am certain that Gangloff will be the first of many that will reach this goal.
He has been an impeccable role model, an inspiration and a leader to more junior staff, and I am certain his example will convince others that they can emulate his achievement.”
Gangloff  joined the company nearly 10 years ago from the Kramer Group and has spent most of that period in the risk management division servicing mainly public sector clients in areas of governance, risk assessment and internal audit.
He has also managed teams responsible for procurement and payment on behalf of major projects.
