THE Justice and Attorney-General Department (DJAG) lost two senior officers who passed away on June 13 and 20.
Department staff paid their respects to village courts and land mediation secretariat assistant manager for Highlands/Mamose Bruce Didimas and DJAG human resources division executive manager Pex Bua at their funeral services in Rev Sione Kami Memorial church in Port Moresby on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
Justice Minister Bryan Kramer expressed sadness on behalf of the department at the passing of the senior officers and extended his condolences to the families and colleagues of Public Trustee Estate senior officer for Southern Mabata Geita who passed away on May 26. “The genuine grief and sense of loss from the DJAG at the passing of Bua, Didimas and Geita is a reflection of their commitment as officers and characters,” he added.
“They are held in high regard by their colleagues and many others.
“Their lives and work are an example and inspiration to us all.”
Didimas was described by colleagues as “A walking, talking textbook on village courts – on its functions, operations, current and prevailing issues”.
He was a long-serving staff of the DJAG who joined the department on Nov 9, 1988, while Bua left the department on June 17, 2019, and was well-respected by the Department and Justice sector.
