Department releases report

THE Treasury Department has released its 2019 mid-year economic and fiscal outlook (MYEFO) report in compliance with the prescribed timelines in the Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA).
Treasurer Sam Basil said this was the first MYEFO report under the Marape Government and it provided a review of the first six months of 2019 against the 2019 Budget parameters and expectations for the budget and economy.
Basil said the international economy had not helped much with trade war tensions continuing and now it seemed currency wars had started.
