TAIES Sansan, pictured, has been reappointed acting secretary for the Department of Personnel Management for the next three months.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill made the announcement on Friday following a recent recommendation by the ministerial executive appointment committee.
The reappointment was effective from Feb 8 to May 8 or until a substantive appointment is made. “I congratulate Sansan on her reappointment given the confidence this government has in her ethical conduct in office,” O’Neill said.
“This government also believes in and promotes gender equality throughout the public service and looks forward to increasing the number of female officers in the management level.”
O’Neill said the government looked forward to working closely with the acting secretary and assured her ongoing support.
Sansan replaces outgoing Secretary John Kali, who has been posted to Canberra as Papua New Guinea’s High Commissioner to Australia.
