“Both the national emergency operations (NEOs)and PHAs had their own tasks and readiness,” he said.
“We have already instructed NEOs and PHAs, through circulars, to be on the alert of the global emergency and to take the necessary peventive measures.
“We are in talks with PHAs and they too are currently preparing themselves.”
Meanwhile, Health and HIV /ADS Minister Jelta Wong said Philippines Air would be stopped from coming to PNG.
“All other aircraft coming in have been instructed to bring in only passengers who have been medically cleared and screened.
“So let me also remind all airline companies coming into the country that they must adhere to the measures being put in place by the Government to protect the people and country.”
Wong also said: “We are also monitoring all passengers who had travelled to China.
“Currently, they are being quarantined in their own homes, but our rapid response unit is calling on them every two days for inspection.
“So, if they happen to show any symptoms, than we will bring them in for quarantine.”
