Aitape-Lumi open MP Patrick Pruaitch submitted acquittals for his district to the Department of Implementation and Rural Development (DIRD) yesterday. Pruaitch, who is also the Opposition leader, said it was important to receive money from the government and tell the government how it was spent.
He said people should develop the habit of acquitting public funds to ensure that reports of expenditures get through to the appropriate authorities.
“I am pleased to present our acquittals for 2016 on the district services improvement programme (DSIP) and district service developments (DSD) on the total expenditure we have incurred,” he said.
