THE National Development Bank made a donation to the Kirakira community in Port Moresby, as part of its community obligation and social responsibility.

The items included 18 water containers, nine mattresses and 18 pillows, nine large canvases, nine bush knives and nine axes, 18 treated mosquito nets, kitchen utensils, food stuff and four bags of clothes.

The items were separated into nine groups for each of the nine families affected by the recent attack by soldiers from Taurama Barracks.

The bank’s acting managing director Moses Liu presented the items to the families.

“NDB is just as passionate about the social wellbeing of our people as we are about their finances. As a state-owned organisation, we want to be able to assist improve the lives of the people in any way we can,” he said.

“NDB’s donation today is part of our community service obligation and social responsibility to help those that are in need around us.

“The unfortunate incident that resulted in the destruction of nine homes affecting their lives was a cause for concern for everyone, which is why NDB is here to show our support.”

Kirakira village councillor Arutu Bake thanked the bank for the donation.
