Digicel launches new handset

MOBILE phone company Digicel PNG launched its latest state-of-the-art BlackBerry Torch 9810 handset in the country on Monday.
The Torch 9810 is a sleek handset weighing 161g and comes in a black and silvery grey colour.
Digicel PNG chief executive officer John Mangos said the product comes with a standby battery that could last for up to 308 hours.
“Talk time is about six hours along with 54 hours of music play time,” he said.
“Since we started launching our state-of-the-art handsets in Papua New Guinea, their demand has increased and we will continue to bring in the best phones to give our customers – more than just voice calls and SMS services.
“The world of technology is changing and we are proud to lead the way for our customers to be up to par with that change through our state-of-the-art of mobile technology.
“We are glad to continue to provide quality and affordable products that can enable our customers to do business, communicate with their families and friends using a wide variety of communication methods available now and entertainment on the palm of their hands anywhere and at anytime,” Mangos said.
The BlackBerry Torch 9810 has been on sale since Monday.
