DIGICEL PNG has given K10,000 to the Morobe Agriculture Show (MPAS) committee to help them organise the event.
A cheque for K10,000 was presented to MPAS president Mike Quinn last week by Digicel PNG Lae general manager Brian Malone, who said they were supportive of community programmes.
“Digicel has always been supportive of community programmes and this is one of them,” he said.
“We’ve supported a number of community programmes in Lae including the Lae police toll free number, improving Lae bus stops in collaboration with Lae MP John Rosso and the Lae City Council.”
Malone said Digicel was also ready to support other worthy community initiatives.
Quinn said the involvement of sponsors like Digicel and others helped them continue staging big events like the Morobe Show.
“Without corporate sponsors, we won’t have this show. They are important to us,” he said.
Digicel joins a small list of valued show sponsors headed by major sponsor Coca-Cola and including major businesses like Ramu Agri Industries and Trukai Industries.
