DIGICEL PNG will once again support the 2019 Karimui Conservation, Agriculture and Cultural Show in Karimui, Chimbu.
Partners With Melanesians (PwM), a local Conservation non-governmental organisation which is spearheading this initiative, will for the second time host the event in the remote Karimui.
It was announced last week at Digicel PNG head office in Port Moresby that the 2019 Karimui Conservation, Agriculture and Cultural Show was one of the activities on the company’s list this year.
Partners With Melanesians is a national conservation and community development NGO which works in partnership with the Rainforest Foundation of Norway .
With four project sites in remote areas of PNG, PwM is involved in conservation education and awareness, sustainable livelihood and alternative development programmes.
The Proposed Mt Karimui Conservation Area Project is the second of PwM’s conservation projects and is located in Salt Nomane Karimui District situated on the edge of the Southern part of Chimbu.
According to PwM programme manager Rufus Mahuru, PwM is happy and thankful to have received support from Digicel PNG in 2018 which has paved the way for us to be included in TPA’s activity calendar for 2019.
“We are more than happy to have Digicel as one of our sponsors in the 2019 Karimui Conservation, Agriculture and Cultural Show,” Mahuru said.
