MORE than 400 leaders in the Central Papua Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church have been urged to help children become followers of Jesus Christ.

The children’s leaders attended a meeting last weekend on the theme “Every child a disciple of Jesus” at the Hohola Adventist Church and the PNG Institute of Public Administration hall in Port Moresby.

The guest speakers were General Conference children’s ministry director Dr Linda Koh and South Pacific Division children’s ministry director Julie Weslake.

Koh spoke on ministering to children, prayer and the importance of the children’s ministry committee.

Weslake’s presentations were on inter-generational worship, building faith using the Grace Link material, family discipleship, worship and service.

At the end of the workshop, the leaders were given materials for Sabbath school and challenged to help children become followers of Jesus.

Many participants said they had learnt many new things at the meeting and were encouraged by messages from Koh and Weslake.
